Steve Schaefer is the lead guitarist for Wayne Brown and The Fuse. He holds a B.A. degree in classical guitar performance and has performed extensively as a soloist. In 2000, he traveled to Spain to study at The University of Salamanca in pursuit of strengthening his Classical/Spanish guitar abilities.
Since graduating from college in 2003, Steve has performed in many different styles of music including classical, jazz, blues, rock and most consistently, musical theater pits.
In 2008, Steve joined singer/songwriter Stephen Lyons and has performed as lead guitarist with Lyons' band in many notable venues including New York's The Bitter End, Cutting Room, Crash Mansion and in Philadelphia at Tin Angel, The M Room, and North Star Bar.
Also that year, Steve joined Wayne Brown and The Fuse as bassist/backup singer and most recently has switched over to guitar. Some of Steve's biggest musical influences include Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, John Williams, Manuel Barrueco, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, Charlie Hunter, Eric Johnson and The Foo Fighters.
During the day, Steve teaches strings/orchestra in the public school system, as well as private lessons.
